About AnimeDives

AnimeDives is curated by Sensei, who has been maintaining anime watchlists and metadata archives since 2015. What began as a personal Notion database of finished series grew into a full-featured anime platform: completed-anime archive, upcoming and announced tracker, ending-soon listings, best rankings, hentai, manga/manhwa/novels directory, streaming sources, and a live news blog — all backed by our metadata and Cloudflare R2.

The project pulls titles, episode counts, genres, scores, and cover art from our metadata source. The main archive is filtered server-side to include only entries with status Completed or Finished. For the current year, titles are included once they haven't aired a new episode in at least 7 days. The site also surfaces upcoming and announced anime, currently-airing shows with known end dates, best-of rankings, adult content, curated source links, and live editorial coverage.

Editor & curator

Sensei is the primary editor and curator of AnimeDives. Background includes long-term anime community participation, metadata research, completed-series curation, and platform development since 2015. The editorial focus is on finished anime for the archive, supplemented by upcoming-tracker maintenance, ending-soon curation, best-ranks scoring, source-directory updates, and weekly news writing.

What this platform actually is

AnimeDives is a metadata directory and editorial platform, not a streaming service. We don't host video, embed players, or link to unofficial sources. What we do provide is a structured, year-by-year index of finished anime with cover art, genres, scores, and popularity data — plus live tracking of upcoming releases, currently-airing shows with projected end dates, curated rankings, an adult-content archive, a manga/manhwa/novel sources directory, and a live news blog. Updated as new titles complete their runs.

How the data is kept current

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers with data stored in R2. Each archive page pulls fresh data on load, so newly finished titles appear immediately without a manual update cycle. The upcoming and ending-soon pages refresh with the same metadata sync. The news section is published through a lightweight R2-backed CMS and covers completed anime reviews, resource guides, industry developments, and platform updates.

Why the focus on "completed only" for the core archive

Ongoing anime lists change weekly — a "best of 2026" article from January is already stale by June. By limiting the main archive to finished series, the rankings and lists stay stable. The ending-soon tracker provides a separate, real-time view for currently airing shows and their projected end dates, while the upcoming page tracks officially announced titles before they air.
