Corrections & Updates Policy

AnimeDives is committed to accuracy and transparency. This page documents how we handle corrections, updates, revision history, and error reporting across our anime platform: completed archive, upcoming tracker, ending-soon listings, best rankings, hentai, manga/manhwa/novels directory, streaming sources, and editorial news content.

Reporting an Error

If you find incorrect metadata, missing titles, outdated scores, or factual errors in any article, please contact us at contact@animedives.com.

Include the following details to help us process your request quickly:

  • The exact URL of the page with the error
  • A description of what is incorrect
  • The correct information, if known
  • A link to the authoritative source (our metadata source, official studio site, etc.)

Correction Process

We follow a standard correction workflow for all data and editorial errors:

  1. Submission: Error report received via email or GitHub issue.
  2. Verification: Our team cross-references the claim against our metadata source, official sources, or primary documentation.
  3. Correction: If verified, we update the data or article content within 1-3 business days.
  4. Disclosure: For editorial corrections, we append a dated note at the bottom of the article explaining what changed and why.
  5. Confirmation: We reply to the original reporter with a summary of the fix.

Update Principles

Our update policy is guided by the following principles:

  • Transparency: All corrections are documented with timestamps and reasons.
  • Minimal disruption: We avoid rewriting articles without cause. Updates are additive or corrective, not stylistic.
  • Source attribution: Changes are tied to verifiable external sources whenever possible.
  • Preservation: We do not delete corrected content; we annotate it to maintain historical context.

Revision History

Major updates to the AnimeDives database and editorial content are tracked in our public revision log. Each entry includes the date of the change, the affected pages or datasets, and a brief summary of the update.

For real-time archive changes, the lastmod date in the sitemap reflects the most recent update to each year page.

Known Limitations

AnimeDives relies on our metadata source public API for core metadata. While we filter and validate this data, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy. Users should verify critical information against official sources before making decisions based on AnimeDives data.

We are not affiliated with our metadata source, Crunchyroll, Netflix, or any anime studio or publisher. All trademarks and copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.
